Blue Christmas

f/800; 1/800 exposure; ISO 100, 55mm focal length

This is a variation of my earlier picture See The Light. There is much the same effect as the earlier picture, but the framing is a little different and the hoar frost on the trees might be a tad more pronounced. I’m still undecided on which I prefer.

For this picture I tweaked the colors a bit differently – it runs a little more red, and the blues are a little sharper. Again, I think it’s a very striking image. If you squint just right you’ll see a very faint suggestion of mist or fog over the trees which I’m not sure that I care for because it could be mistaken for carelessness during post-processing.

So what do you think? Which of the two images do you prefer? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each?

What’s Good: Framing, contrast

What’s Bad: Colors seem slightly unnatural; noise
