Golden Life

Golden Life

f/1.8, 1/500, ISO-100, 50mm

Have I mentioned how much I love my new Canon EF 50mm 1.8 lens? There’s a clarity to my pictures that I just don’t see in my earlier stock zoom lens. The fine hairs on this are what really make the shot, I think.

Found this photograph on the trail up to Effigy Mounds just a little before 9:00, so it must have been approximately two miles into my journey. The morning sun was still low enough to cast a warm light on the area (though perhaps 30-60 minutes earlier would have been a little more ideal). It shows that there is beauty even at the end of life, but seeing it takes an unprejudiced eye.

Thanks! I would love it even more if getting that warm, golden light didn’t also involve getting up at 4 AM 😉
