Soft Morning

Soft Morning

f/1.8, 1/60, ISO-100, 50mm

Another photo that’s a little off the beaten path for me. It’s the first time since June that I’ve been out to Dudgeon Nature Area to do some serious photography. The place was devastated by a summer storm this year and I haven’t had the heart to do much work out there since, although it’s one of my favorite places.

I found this scene early in the morning when I was ostensibly out to get a picture of the sunrise. The sun’s glow was particularly warm and reflecting off a small lake in the background, and I decided to play with a wide open aperture. The result was more interesting that I wold have imagined (to be honest, I doubted whether I would have a useable picture at all) and it’s already become a favorite of mine.

A favorite of mine, too. Such a lovely shot! The colors and the subject are stunning!
