Broken Green

Broken Green

f/5.6, 1/40, ISO-100, 49mm

For a variety of reasons, I’m unable to find as much time to head out into the wild with my camera. Partly it’s demands of work, partly it’s my health, and partly it’s caring for my family.

At any rate, I find myself turning more and more to my backlog to keep my interest in photography going and productive. It’s a fun challenge as well to take rejected photos and turn them into something I can be proud of. This is another example. Originally taken a little over a year ago, I isolated a small part of the original image and did some things with split toning to add more color to an otherwise drab scene. Goosed up the contrast a bit, and while it’s not my best work I think it’s visually interesting at least.

Wonderful image AJ; I love it. It’s superbly moody and atmospheric. I can empathise with work getting in the way of going out and capturing images. I’ve been out and about with the camera less this year due to work commitments and available energy levels. It’s good to look at the archive though for those hidden gems full of potential!
