Another portrait I did recently. I’ve decided I can get into this sort of thing. I like this shot a lot. Good expression and exposed pretty well.

If I was to nitpick, I would say that I could have lowered the camera angle just a couple of inches so the shoreline was at shoulder-level rather than where it is. If I was a little betting at post-processing I might have been able to soften the shine on his forehead a little more, but’s basically blown out so there’s not much I can do.

A particular challenge I’ve discovered with post-processing current men’s style: the five o’clock shadow look is attractive, but it makes it a real challenge to soften and even the skin tones without blurring out the beard. With a little perseverance I managed a decent job, though.
