I decided to try my hand at reworking a previously published photograph again, after having been so pleased with my results with the picture of a thunderhead last week. This time it’s a more recent photograph. The original was OK, but I felt the subject’s face was too dark and the sky behind her lost much of it’s drama. I hit the reset button on it and started over again, doing much of the editing in Perfect Portrait this time.
I like this one a lot better. There is much more clarity and sharpness (though you need to look at it full-size; the resize for my page layout unsharpens it a bit) and I really like the way her face is lit against the early dawn of morning. The sky behind her is much more dramatic as well without, I think, being distracting.
