f/5.0 1/800, ISO-100, 50mm

This is the first frame captured with my new Canon EOS D70. It arrived at 10:30 this morning and I didn’t get a chance to snap the shutter until about 5:30 (if you’re looking at the metadata on it, I haven’t got the time on my camera set right yet, apparently). I knew I wanted my first frame to be at least somewhat post-worthy. I was looking to avoid a “test image” just to see what the shutter sounded like. It was a difficult day because the sun was blazing directly overhead, it was hazy, and it is extremely hot. And although this isn’t among my finest work, I think I accomplished what I set out to do for the first frame.

Thank you! I’m really enjoying this camera. Still getting used to it but it’s a lot of fun. Heading to Maquoketa Caves this week to try it out some more, after being inspired by your images there.
