Wupatki Ruins

As I understand it, this is essentially an ancient apartment complex. Entire families lived in each area. Evidence suggests that this area was an enormous trade location, with people coming from from hundreds or thousands of miles away to trade here. This was before the introduction of the horse to North America, so all goods would likely have been carried by hand.

Fascinating place. I visited Wupatki once about ten years ago and really need to get back there. I remember finding the circular ball courts particularly interesting.

I’ve got another coming up soon of the ball court. It was a fascinating place. I visited there twice during my four days in the area, to get the place in different lighting.
